I finished putting together the playlist for our wedding ceremony. All of the songs I’ve chosen come from movies because I watch too many and have emotional attachments.
Grandmother’s Entrance - Storybook Love from The Princess Bride (guitar)
Mother’s Entrance - Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (piano)
Groom, Groomsmen and Officiant - Go the Distance from Disney’s Hercules (piano)
Bridesmaids - Glasgow Love Theme from Love Actually
Bride - I Can See the Light from Disney’s Tangled (piano)
Recessional - Married Life from Disney/Pixar’s Up
There’s no YouTube link for Go the Distance, but it was arranged by the same person who did I Can See the Light. Here is his YouTube page.
I would definitely consider myself a bride on a budget. We have a very limited amount of money to dedicate to our wedding (although it seems like a lot to us, it’s well below the average), and most of those funds are gone after paying for our venue (which provides food, cake, linens, etc.), photographer and DJ.
I went to a florist yesterday to get an estimate on floral arrangements. All I really wanted was a small bouquet for myself and my two bridesmaids, three boutonnieres, small centerpieces and some flowers for our ceremony. I got the estimate tonight and I now definitely know that there is NO WAY that we can afford to have a florist.
Flowers are honestly the least important part of our wedding. I love flowers, but this is just not something that I want to spend a lot of money on.
I’m sure that everyone will tell me NOT to DIY the flowers, but until they’re willing to give me the money to pay the florist this is the only way it can be done. Here’s what I have in mind so far:
Bouquets
Wedding Chicks has an amazing selection of “Bouquet Recipes.” I really love white bouquets, so here are the two that catch my attention.

My bridesmaids will also carry white bouquets - much smaller versions of my own.
Reception Centerpieces
Centerpieces are very important parts of the reception. A table full of people will be looking at it for two or three hours, so they had better be nice to look at. I will have flowers at each table, but I don’t feel like we need huge, elaborate floral arrangements.
I really love this Babys Breath arrangement (also from Wedding Chicks) because of its simplicity. I think it’s a good choice for an afternoon reception like mine. The mason jars wouldn’t be a good fit with the style of our venue, and I really love mercury glasses so that would be a change I would make.

This Acacia centerpiece from Style Me Pretty is another one I love. It looks so simple to DIY. We only have 8 tables so this could definitely be done the night before with my mom and bridesmaids. I love the candles around it as well. The whole thing is so simple, but makes an impact.

Finally took our engagement pictures today! It was totally awkward, but I can’t wait to see them. We get our CD next week, hopefully on Monday. I will definitely be sharing some of them on this page. We took about a billion pictures in six (?) locations so I will definitely need to editeditedit.

I love our save-the-dates! So glad they’re FINALLY done. Sending them out tomorrow!
